UPDATE
September 22, 2022
We are back to operating normally with curbside and online consultations available.
We thank everyone for their cooperation.
UPDATE
December 23, 2021
Due to the rising COVID-19 case numbers, we will be going back to curbside service as of Tuesday, December 28th when we reopen following Christmas.
This means that we will no longer be able to allow clients in to our hospital, with the sole exception of euthanasia appointments (maximum two people and masked at all times).
This decision was not made lightly but with consideration to the rising COVID numbers and the goal to keep our staff and clients as safe as we possibly can. We have seen several other hospitals shutting down due to COVID exposures/ cases in their clinics. This leaves pet owners with limited options for care in an already overburdened and understaffed veterinary climate here in Ontario.
We want to continue to be here for your pets, and we want everyone, staff and clients, to be as protected as possible. We know you want to be with your four-legged family members when they are receiving care in our hospital, and we wish that you could be as well. Please bear with us as we continue to navigate these uncertain times along with you.
For everyone’s safety, we are asking all clients to call us & check in from your vehicle.
When you arrive to the clinic, please call (905)-336-2800 from your vehicle
In most cases, we will be coming out to bring your pet inside or bring food and/or medications to your vehicle.
FOR OUR CLIENTS
Updated December 23, 2021
Our intent is to remain fully available to provide care to our patients.
We do ask, however, that you help us out and keep yourselves safe by observing the following guidelines:
Clients must remain outside the building, with the sole exception of euthanasia appointments (maximum two people and masked at all times).
Please call us when you arrive at the hospital so that we know you are here (905) 336-2800. We will come outside to meet you with any product you are picking up, or to check in your pet if they are here for an appointment.
During your pet’s appointment, you will be given the option of video or phone call to discuss your pet’s care with our veterinarian.
We will be enforcing a strict mask policy whenever our staff is interacting with you outside of our building.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are isolating, but your pet requires immediate care, please disclose this on the phone when you speak with reception. It is important for us to have this information as we will ask you to send your pet to the hospital with someone else, and will also take extra precautions when handling your pet, in order to minimize potential exposure to our staff.
If you are experiencing symptoms or are feeling unwell in any way, please do not come to the hospital, but send your pet with someone else.
FOR OUR STAFF
As a staff, we are implementing the following protocols in our hospital:
All staff have been instructed to stay home if they are ill with respiratory symptoms. If symptoms develop while at work, they are to inform us right away and go home to contact their own health care provider. We will of course inform our clients and take all appropriate measures if any of our staff members tests positive for COVID-19.
We will ensure supplies are available (tissues, waste receptacles, alcohol based hand sanitizers)
We will be implementing extra sanitization procedures between appointments thoroughly on top of our regular cleaning protocols
We will continue to review these protocols as the situation develops. In the meantime, we wish for all of our client families and pets to stay safe and healthy during these challenging times!
